These 5 roots establish the foundation for RCC

+ Scripture

Scripture is the perfect, inspired, infallible Word of God & the final authority for believers in Christ (2 Timothy 3:16). Our goal is to teach, learn, study and obediently respond to God’s Word.

+ Relationship

Relationships are imperative in the life of the Believer. Our first call as Christ followers is to God Himself. If this relationship is in correct alignment all others will follow suit. We are committed to build all relationships inside our families (Ephesians 5:21-33, Matthew 19:19, Ephesians 6:1-4), our church community (Hebrews 10:25), with other fellow believers in Christ (John 13:34-35), our friends and the world (Mark 16:15, Micah 6:8).

+ Love

We recognize the words of Jesus regarding Love as the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37-40). Loving God completely is our first priority followed by loving people, without condemnation or casting judgement, while lovingly pointing everyone to the life Scripture outlines for believers. Scripture clearly identifies love as the highest ethic (1 Corinthians 13) & consistently points believers in Christ to operate in Love. We desire to be a community for all believers in Christ. Diversity of culture, opinion and perspective, expressed through love, make everyone better. We welcome, encourage & celebrate people of all ages and ethnicities to share in community with RCC.

+ Growth

We are commanded by Jesus in the Great Commission to make Disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). Our desire is to build disciples, not just congregants. Disciples are marked by continuing to grow into a deeper relationship with God, increasing in knowledge of God and His Word, a commitment to the Scriptural Spiritual Disciplines and maturity (Hebrews 5:14). Growth is often challenging and messy but so is life in our fallen/imperfect world. Wholeness, freedom, identity & healing are all found in Christ. Our desire is for every person to embrace the specific process by which God will shape, prune & grow them as true Disciples of Christ. As people develop in Christian living, we desire to see individuals and families strengthened by the love shared among the people of the church and through a life bearing good fruit.

+ Worship

The original languages of Scripture use more than a dozen words to describe our one English word “worship”. Those original words translate into 3 basic categories: Submission, Honor & Affection. We believe submitting to God, honoring Him through obedience & expressing affection for our Lord are imperative to the foundational life of the Believer. We desire for every person to live a life of true worship to God.
